IRIS – ISO 9001 – ISO 22163
ISO 9001, the flagship of international standardisation and the basis for global management systems for products and services, is currently undergoing revision after ten years of stability.
A first draft was widely published at the end of August 2025. This will be further refined over the next twelve months until it is officially released.
The changes and innovations are already clearly visible – and with them, the areas where existing RQMS systems will need to be adapted. Whether in planning or operations, numerous additions will require concrete implementation.
All related standards will also have to incorporate these changes in the coming years – including ISO 22163 in the railway sector. Preparations for this are already underway, and we can already share some initial insights that will be essential for companies.
